What Is Juvederm®?

The Juvederm® collection of dermal fillers are a great option for treating wrinkles and for plumping sagging or flat areas associated with aging. Most dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid (HA), a sugar found naturally in human skin. These injectable products add volume under the skin to smooth wrinkles, plump lips, add volume to cheeks, and help decrease the appearance of scars. The effects of dermal fillers usually last between 6 months to 2 years, depending on the specific product used. 

In addition to Juvederm® products, our Austin plastic surgeon also offers the Restylane® line to give patients the broadest selection of safe and effective hyaluronic acid fillers.

What Are the Different Juvederm® Products Offered?

The Juvederm® family of products includes a variety of different formulations designed to treat different facial areas and concerns. Learn more about each of the available products:

How Are Juvederm® Injections Performed?

Juvederm® injections are performed in-office by Dr. Holzman. The process begins with a consultation to discuss goals and assess the treatment area. The skin is then cleansed, and a topical anesthetic may be applied for comfort. Using a fine needle, the appropriate type and amount of Juvederm® filler is carefully injected into the targeted area(s) to add volume, smooth wrinkles, and/or enhance contours. The procedure typically lasts about 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of areas treated. Results are immediate, and most patients require little to no downtime afterward.
